Elizabeth Clubs and groups

Looking at the history of Elizabeth, one thing that has always amazed me is the number of clubs and groups that existed in the early years.    Here is a list from the 1960's.  Some I have no idea what they did.  Maybe you were a member of a club and have some informaition to share.  We would love to hear from you.

  1. Hi, I have handwritten biographical notes about the late Phoebe Lyon, who was active in live theatre in Elizabeth from 1950s until several years ago.
When she passed on, her music and lyrics collection found its way to Two Wells Melodrama group. The biog notes were among this vast collection of material.
Phoebe ran the Elizabeth Revue group throughout its existence.
If you'd like this, where should I send it? I might deliver it, or mail it, so please give me both addresses.
Would you also be interested in her music/lyrics collection? It takes up approx 15 Lever arch files. :-)
Would you please let me know mailing and delivery address for the biog, at least?
    Kind regards,
    Kay Boon. Two Wells 0421 163 920

  2. There were actually 12 Scout Groups in the Elizabeth area during the 1960s to the early 1980s.

North Para was one of two districts that covered the Elizabeth area until the mid 1970s, when they merged to become Elizabeth District, later becoming Playford District around 1998, Carisbrooke District 2007 and is now Ridley District from 2013

    1. Somewhere in here there was Para District - the badge for which combines North Para and South Para. I was with 8th Elizabeth, which became Elizabeth Downs from 1963 to 1968.
