Two great SA history resources

Two great resources have recently been released perfect for the family historian and history buff.

The first is Adelaidia is an interactive website looking at the history of Adelaide city.  This site is built on stories of the city’s people, places and events, the city streets and the buildings and monuments that line them, and the events that enliven them. It is also about the communities and organisations that have shaped the city and the broader historical subjects that help us make sense of the past and the present. You can add your own stories, photos and comments. Adelaidia has been developed by History SA, a leading history and museum organisation that researches and preserves the history of South Australia for future generations. http://adelaidia.sa.gov.au/

The second resource allows you to research deaths in SA from 1972, when the SA Death Indexes stop.  The Savill Index of The Advertiser Funeral Notices 1971 – 1990 and 1997 – 2013, can be found on the State Library of SA website. http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/fh/savill/index.html
